Customs, Excise & VAT (Appeal) Commissionerate, Khulna

Customs, Excise & VAT (Appeal) Commissionerate, Khulna is a Quasi-judicial department of Customs, Excise & VAT. It is a small unit of National Board of Revenue under Internal Resource Division, Ministry of Finance. It was established on 25 August 2011 and started its works on 03 June,2012 for the purpose of protecting government revenue with ensuring the justice to the appellant.This Commissionerate considers the appeal cases within due time and adjudicate through hearing according to The Customs Act, 1969;. The Excise & Salt Act, 1944, Value Added Tax Act & Value Added Rules, 1991; Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Acts, 2012; Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Rules, 2016 and other related Acts & Rules. It is a platform where any person aggrieved by any decision or order under the related Acts or Rules by an officer of Customs lower in rank than a Commissioner of Customs can file an appeal case lawfully. This department not only protects the revenue of government but also gives the appellant  opportunity to propound their legal speech related to the cases.

The Jurisdiction of Customs, Excise & VAT (Appeal) Commissionerate, Khulna covers the area of Mongla Custom House, Khulna; Customs House, Benapole, Jessore; Customs, Excise & VAT Commissionerate, Khulna and Customs, Excise & VAT Commissionerate, Jessore.

Commissioner Appeal is the head of the Commissionerate.
